I have been teaching Science at Sachem for about 15 years now and enjoy it most when my students are engaged in labs that relate to local labs. Before teaching, I worked in a Developmental Genetics lab at Stony Brook University and since then I have also spent a few summers at Brookhaven National Laboratory (as part of the Dept. of Energy’s Academy Creating Teacher Scientists Program). At Sachem, I teach Genetics, Advanced Placement (A.P.) Biology, and The Living Environment. Outside of teaching I advise the Chess Club and coach the Sachem East Chess Team. On a personal level, I enjoy running, hiking, and learning about anything that motivates someone to better themselves.
